The deadline serves the implementation of Resolution No. 22 on amending and supplementing several articles of Resolution No.5 of Haiphong People's Council on the stipulating policies to support the dismantling of aquaculture facilities in the bays of Cat Islands, with the extension of the dismantling-support period to be before July 1st, 2023, instead of December 31st last year. With the determination to complete the dismantling of 440 aquaculture facilities in the bays of the Cat Ba archipelago, Cat Hai district’s working groups have been increasing propaganda and mobilizing owners of aquaculture facilities to remove cages and move to their fishery farming areas planned by the City People's Committee.

After nearly two years of perseverance and persistence with many positive solutions, flexible, creative, and sufficient applications into propagandizing and mobilizing aquaculture establishment owners to agree to reduce and relocate cages in the bays of the Cat Ba archipelago, Cat Hai district has achieved initial completion on a large number of works, gradually returning the inherent landscape to the Cat Ba islands on the itinerary to become the World’s Natural Heritage. The effort further shows the city's interest in its policy on sustainable aquacultural development as well as the gradual arrangement of aquaculture activities in the Cat Ba archipelago’s bays in synchronization with high-quality eco-tourism development and services.
