Hai Phong participates in exhibition "Vietnamese Cultural Heritage

​​​​​​​On the evening of July, in Hoi An ancient town, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism  coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Nam province to open the exhibition "Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Space" with the participation of nearly 30 provinces and cities across the country.  This is a large-scale event to celebrate the Quang Nam National Tourism Year 2022. Hai Phong City participates in this event with  fascinating activities, attracting many tourists.

Passenger terminal No. 2 construction project - Cat Bi International airport approved

On July 8, the Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh signed decision No. 803 approving a new passenger terminal at the Cat Bi International Airport in the Northern port city of Haiphong.

Strengthening natural disaster forecast and prevention capacity

On Friday, the task force of the General Bureau for Natural Disasters led by Mr. Trần Quang Hoài – Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Director General of Vietnam Disaster Management Authority conducted a factual inspection at several vulnerable irrigational works in the areas of Vinh Bao district and worked with the People’s Committee of Haiphong city on measures to enhance the management quality of dykes, embankments, natural disaster prevention and control, search and rescue in 2022; the disbursement for upgrading the dyke and embankment system under the public investment plan, period 2021-2025.

Helping people and enterprises hard hit by Covid-19

Since the start of the year, the State Bank, Haiphong branch has directed its credit organizations in the city to deploy measures of controlling credit attached to improving credit quality, focus on credit resources for business and production activities and preferential fields in line with the central government’s guideline.

Completing site clearance for Bac Dong Cam New urban area project

The technical infrastructure investment and construction project for Bac Song Cam new urban area is a key project of the city in period  2016 - 2025. At this time, Thuy Nguyen district is focusing on revoking land of the remaining households and try to finish this work before July 15.     

Nearly 55 thousand enterprises participate in national “single door” mechanism

To mid June 2022, Vietnam has nearly 55 thousand enterprises participating in the national “single door” mechanism. In the first months of the year, the General Derpartment of Vietnam Customs has constaintly  directed and closely collaborated with relevant ministries and branches to apply the master plan of deploying national “single door” mechanism, ASEAN single-door mechanism and creat favorable conditions for commerce.

Passengers through Cat Bi International Airport surge sharply

The number of passengers through Cat Bi International Airport in June alone increased by nearly 43% over the same period last year, an increase of 34% compared to 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic. International flights have also started to resume since the beginning of June. The above figures show a strong recovery of the aviation industry after the pandemic, especially domestic aviation.          

Gross domestic product in the city increases by more than 11%

In the first 6 months of this year, commercial and service activities in the city achieved a good growth compared to the same period last year in the context that the pandemic has been controlled well , production and business activities have gradually returned to normal , programs to connect supply and demand , promotions to stimulate consumer demand have been promoted.

Hai Phong IIP increases by 11.84 % in first 6 months

In the first 6 months of the year, Covid-19 had a negative impact on the global supply chain, and the high cost of production materials affected a number of industrial production sectors.  In that context, industrial production in the city continued to maintain stable production and achieved a good growth rate of 11.84%, however, still lower than the plan.

City leaders receive Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam

This morning, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung, Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee received and welcomed Ms. Grete Lochen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Vietnam on the occasion of her working visit to Hai Phong.  Also attending the reception was Mr. Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee.
