Promoting Digital Transformation In The Tourism Sector
Recently, Cat Hai district has been promoting digital transformation in the economy, focusing on its key sector–tourism. Many solutions have been implemented and initially brought back positive results, gradually modernizing digital infrastructure to serve the introduction and promotion of Cat Ba’s green tourism and the UNESCO World Heritage – Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago.
As of now, many tourism service establishments have updated information and data on Cat Hai district’s tourist management software. Information about tourism business owners, addresses, phone numbers, emails, websites, Facebook pages, number of rooms, number of beds, number of employees, etc., is included in the information management through software. The digitization works as a database and is always ready to be shared on the city's shared data management database. Since 2023, the district has been proactively coordinating with Viettel Hai Phong to deploy accommodation management software. The software will help businesses declare authenticity and buy tickets for tourists easily, and simultaneously develop a more professional image of Cat Ba tourism.
Currently, the Cat Hai district’s operation center includes smart tourism management and operations software, which is being implemented actively to improve the quality of Cat Ba’s tourism service toward a more civilized and professional model. With Cat Ba honored as a World Natural Heritage and a series of events on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visiting Cat Ba fishing village being held in March, Cat Ba tourism is believed to flourish, contributing to fulfilling the 3.6 million visitor target in 2024./.
