Developing Eco-Friendly Tourism
Developing tourism associated with environmental protection is one of the necessary solutions for Hai Phong City to build green and sustainable tourism. Tourism development creates many economic benefits but also causes pressure on the natural and social environment.
The amount of plastic waste generated from tourism activities has been challenging the sustainable tourism development of coastal localities. Minimizing waste from plastic has become an urgent requirement when reducing the consumption of plastic products, especially those disposable, are difficult to decompose. Cat Hai district has issued a regulation to coordinate with the Ha Long Bay Management Board on protecting a green, clean, and beautiful environment to attract tourists to the World Natural Heritage. The two units have worked together to protect the natural environment in the bays of the Cat Ba archipelago as well as the border area between Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay, implementing more effective solutions in collecting and treating wastes on the Cat Ba archipelago./.
