As the destination where all the tributaries of Thai Binh river running to the sea, Haiphong owns a dense network of rivers. Consequently, Hai Phong city considers construction of bridges and roads as an important task locally.
There are some typical bridges such as Binh Bridge spanning over Cam river, connecting Hong Bang and Thuy Nguyen districts, thought to be one of the most beautiful bridges in Southeast Asia; Lac Long bridge crossing over Tam Bac river, in the district of Hong Bang, one with the city's most beautiful path; Cau Quay also known as Railway bridge, spanning over Tam Bac river and the "historic bridge" was built during the French colonial period.
