Haiphong crab noodles – one of ten Vietnamese dishes wins Asian record
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Haiphong crab noodles (Bánh đa cua Hải Phòng) was recognized as one of 10 Vietnamese dishes to win Asian record. Recently, in Faridabad, the Asia Record Organization (ARO) officially certified and announced records of 10 Vietnamese dishes which had been nominated by Vietnam Record Organization based on the criteria of “Asian cuisine value” regulated by ARO.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Haiphong crab noodles (Bánh đa cua Hải Phòng) was recognized as one of 10 Vietnamese dishes to win Asian record. Recently, in Faridabad, the Asia Record Organization (ARO) officially certified and announced records of 10 Vietnamese dishes which had been nominated by Vietnam Record Organization based on the criteria of “Asian cuisine value” regulated by ARO.

Along with Haiphong crab noodles, other Vietnamese dishes won Asian records include: Hanoi noodle (Phở Hà Nội); Hanoi vermicelli and grilled chopped meat (Bún chả Hà Nội); Hanoi vermicelli and chicken soup (Bún thang Hà Nội); Ninh Binh rice crackers (Cơm cháy Ninh Bình); Nghe An eel vermicelli (Miến lươn Nghệ An); Gia Lai dry noodles (Phở khô Gia Lai); Vung Tau coconut-turmeric shrimp pancakes (Bánh khọt Vũng Tàu); Saigon raw fish and vegetables (Gỏi cuốn Sài Gòn); and Saigon broken rice (Cơm tấm Sài Gòn).

This event has certified cultural values of Vietnamese cuisine, so that provinces in the whole country could popularize their dishes to people of other localities as well as international friends when visiting their hometowns. As scheduled, on 22th September 2012, a delegation of ARO will come to Vietnam to award the Asian records to localities which have recorded dishes. This is the first time Haiphong is honor to be awarded an Asian record in cuisine; whereby contribute to propagandizing and popularizing the image of Haiphong city through well-known dishes which have been introduced to Asian and international friends.
