Hai Phong - Illuminate the Land of Heritage Exhibition Opens
On the morning of May 9th, at the Political-Administrative Center North of Cam River, Hai Phong City’s Department of Culture and Sports held the opening ceremony of the Exhibition Illuminate the Land of Heritage to welcome the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2024.

 

The exhibition takes place from May 9th - 13th, 2024, featuring about 230 photos and five statistical excerpts introducing the process of building, defending, and developing Hai Phong City’s socio-economy during 69 years (1955 - 2024), promoting the scenic spots, historical relics, culture, and people of Hai Phong City.

On this occasion, the City’s Department of Culture and Sports coordinates with localities to introduce to the public beautiful photos of heritages, systems of historical and cultural relics, and typical architectural works showcasing the beauty of the cultural and natural heritage of Ninh Binh province and all parts of the country.

In Vietnam's history, Hai Phong has been a major and key economic center of the country but also a center interacting with other cultures, where people's cultural values ​​converge and crystallize. Besides natural heritage, many generations of Hai Phong people have created legacies rich in maritime cultural identity contributing to the creation of forming civilization across the Red River with 555 ranked monuments, including the world natural heritage Cat Ba Archipelago along with Ha Long Bay, honored by UNESCO in September 2023, special-grade national monuments, national monuments, city-grade monuments, 21 national treasures, 11 national intangible cultural heritages, such as Female General Le Chan Festival, Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival, Xa Ma Festival - Hoang Chau communal house palanquin procession (Cat Hai), Trang Trinh Temple Festival Nguyen Binh Khiem, Tu Luong Xam Festival, Minh The Festival, Ngu Linh Tu Festival, Dum Singing; Folk performance art Water puppetry in Nhan Hoa commune, Vinh Bao district.

Visiting the exhibition, Haiphong people can look more closely at the appearance, feel the artworks more deeply, and take pride in the Vietnamese Fatherland and the Port City. Dear, cultivate knowledge about national cultural values, spreading widely and strongly in life, especially the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Hai Phong closer to the people in the home country and abroad. Domestic and international tourists have an opportunity to understand many cultural values ​​associated with Hai Phong's cultural heritage, thereby returning to the city./.
