Hai Phong City Continues To Pilot Public Bike Project
Tri Nam Group has been running a successful public bicycle project in Hong Bang, Le Chan, Ngo Quyen, and Hai An districts for over a year. The project was recently approved by the Hai Phong City Peoples Committee to continue for another two years.
Tri Nam Group has set up 47 public bicycle stations on sidewalks of four districts, each equipped with painted parking lines and guidance billboards from the Department of Transport. Each station covers an area of 10-15 m2 and can accommodate 10-20 bicycles. The rental fee for a public bicycle is 5,000 VND for the first 30 minutes and 1,000 VND for the next 6 minutes. To rent a bike, users must download the bike app, and create and top up their accounts. Each bicycle comes with an identification ID, smart lock, and navigation system. Users can track the bike’s route via the app and return it to any station.
After a year, residents and tourists have become keen on the public bicycle service, providing another transportation option in Hai Phong City.
The Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee has approved the continuation of the public bicycle service project by Tri Nam Group for another two years. The People's Committees of relevant districts, and various departments and branches, are tasked with implementing measures to enhance the project's operational efficiency. This project contributes to fostering a bicycle culture, encouraging the use of bicycles as an environmentally friendly mode of transportation, improving community health, and promoting Hai Phong as a green, friendly, and welcoming city./.
