Smart Parking – Solution For Modern City
The number of cars in Hai Phong City has continuously increased by 8 - 10% each year, yet the infrastructure for parking remains limited. Vehicles are illegally parked on roadsides and sidewalks, causing traffic congestion on many streets. Thus, smart parking is the solution for big cities.

According to statistics, parking lots and temporary parking spots in Hong Bang, Le Chan, and Ngo Quyen districts only provide about 6,300 parking slots–equivalent to about 3 - 4% of the districts’ total demand–along with other 2,500 parking positions in 32 temporary parking spots using part of the road and sidewalks. Many housing projects and commercial centers in the city have established underground parking lots and applied IT in management and operation, but the parking slots are still limited in number.

To solve the parking lot problem, besides the 19 planned parking lots, Hai Phong City’s authorities have introduced a mechanism to encourage investors to build parking lots based on applying advanced technology and building smart parking lots, ensuring fire safety, traffic connection, and convenience for citizens. Along with solutions for parking infrastructure, on March 20th, 2024, the Hai Phong City People's Committee issued documents directing branches and functional forces to strengthen the inspection and handle violations in car parking with different timelines. From April 1, 2025, cars only stop, not park on traffic routes, especially in the city center area. The City Police are to focus on imposing the highest fines for unlawful stopping and parking cars at points with a high risk of causing traffic accidents and parking on sidewalks. From April 1st, 2025, the city will direct police and functional forces to strengthen inspection, handle, and apply maximum fines for wrongful parking, especially in the city center./.
