Maritime Economy Strengthened
Based on similarities in many fields between the two island districts and at the same time to concretize Conclusion 160, dated October 20th, 2021, on the Cooperation Program between Hai Phong City and Quang Ninh Province, Co To District Party Committee and Bach Long Vi District Party Committee agreed to develop a coordination program between the two localities to in many fields.
Bach Long Vi (Hai Phong City) and Co To (Quang Ninh Province) are the two island districts with strategic positions for defense and security in the Gulf of Tonkin. Overcoming difficulties and major challenges in geographical location, transportation, party committees, authorities, military, and people of the two island districts have gradually developed infrastructure, electricity, running water, system, and high-rise buildings to improve the quality of living and refurbish the area. Among them, Co To is currently an attractive destination in the eyes of domestic and foreign tourists while Bach Long Vi has also been oriented to become a fishing logistics, search & rescue center in the Northern region.
The two localities agreed to focus on coordinating on five contents. In particular, the study proposed to establish sea routes and traffic flows connecting the two localities to promote trade and strengthen links to develop tourism and services, develop and implement a program for cooperation and development, tourism promotion, promote the advantages and preserve the unique values of each party have been placed focus on.
In the coming time, the two localities will strengthen cooperation more effectively with the highest determination to accompany and share experiences to develop even stronger in the future./.
