Building a master plan for tourism development in Hai Phong city
The recent administrative rearrangement has created a new context, spatial framework, and development requirements for Hai Phong’s tourism sector. Therefore, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just held a meeting to develop a new tourism development plan with a new vision, new development goals, and orientations aligned with the city’s expanded space and position.
The general project for tourism development in Hai Phong city to 2030, with a vision to 2045, aims to shift from a model of extensive development to an intensive development model, from focusing mainly on the number of tourists to focusing on developing both the quantity and quality of tourists, orienting the high-end tourist segment in some areas, shifting from a separate model to an inter-regional approach, forming large tourism areas, international-class tourism products, attracting large and reputable investors, thereby creating leverage for the city to upgrade tourism infrastructure and develop new products and services. In particular, it emphasizes the goals, targets, tasks, and solutions for tourism development in Hai Phong city to 2030, with a vision to 2045; proposing breakthrough plans and solutions to shape spatial planning and develop distinctive tourism products and services in the Do Son Peninsula, the Bac Song Cam Urban Area, the Chi Linh Urban Area, as well as enhance connectivity between tourism products in Eastern and Western Hai Phong.
