Thuy Nguyen district will also manage other plans to adjust the boundaries of Vu Yen Island in Hai An district. Recently, the communes and towns in the district have actively prepared for voter consultation at the end of this March.

Thuy Son commune has already posted the voter list at various locations, including the commune People's Committee headquarters and seven villages. Additionally, the Party committees in the villages are carrying out educational campaigns to help residents understand the goals and significance of the projects, which is essential in building consensus among the community. On March 1st, 2024, the district released a plan to gather feedback from voters on the proposed changes regarding commune-level administrative units, wards, and cities within Hai Phong City.

Under the project, wards and communes in Thuy Nguyen City will be established based on geographical and population considerations, reducing the number of administrative units from 37 to 21. The plan includes establishing nine wards based on the current structure, merging 17 communes to create ưight new wards, and integrating 11 communes to form four additional wards.

According to the plan, the collection of voter opinions is set for March 30th and 31st. The locality also focuses on establishing a new urban master plan for the Thuy Nguyen district until 2045. The district is also working on an urban development program and classification project that aligns with urban standards and establishing plans for an urban subdivision, evaluating existing infrastructure, and managing the rearrangement of commune-level administrative units, the establishment of wards, and city formation in Hai Phong City within the Thuy Nguyen district./.
