Enhancing Value Of Agricultural Products
Recently, Hai Phong City and industrial agencies at all levels have been promoting the OCOP program to enhance implementation solutions. Participating in the program, many cooperative groups and cooperatives in the collective economic sector have embraced changes in their thinking, work approach, and investment in technology. They have also incorporated scientific and technical advancements into production to improve product quality, align with market demands, and integrate with the value chain.
Currently, Hai Phong City has 171 city-level OCOP products, with 114 3-star products, 57 4-star products, and 5 products recommended for 5-star recognition at the Central level. After being recognized, these units receive favorable conditions to enhance production and business growth, consequently boosting the collective economic sector.
Reality has proven that the OCOP program helps increase the value of agricultural products and, more importantly, changes the production mindset of farmers.
According to the plan, the OCOP program, lasting from 2021 until 2025, with an orientation to 2030 aims to be implemented in 217 communes, wards, and towns across eight districts and seven communes. Also from 2021 to 2025, the program sets out to develop, upgrade, and complete the classification assessment documents for 335 OCOP products. This contributes to bringing unique products from each region to domestic consumers and meeting export standards./.
