Entering the peak tourism season this year, the number of visitors to Cat Ba has increased both on weekends and weekdays. Investment in tourism infrastructure has created favorable conditions for visitors to Cat Ba safely, conveniently, and quickly. Visitors can freely choose different types of transportation to visit the World Natural Heritage. Traveling by road via Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry is chosen by most visitors because of its safety and convenience.

Instead of waiting for the ferry, visitors can use a sea-cable car service to save time and have many experiences of viewing the whole of Cat Ba island from above with preferential ticket prices. Thanks to the diversification of transportation types and flexible travel methods including roads, waterways, and cable cars, this year's tourist season, on average, the Cat Ba tourism area welcomes thousands of visitors every day.

In the first six months of 2024, Cat Ba tourism welcomed about 1.6 million visitors, equivalent to over 45% of the year’s plan, of which international visitors are estimated at more than half a million, equal to 82% of the yearly plan, and domestic visitors are estimated at more than 1 million. The total revenue from accommodation and food services is estimated at nearly 1,500 billion VND. June and July are considered Cat Ba tourism’s peaks, so the number of visitors is forecasted to continue to increase. Benefiting from natural landscapes and modernized transport and tourism infrastructure, Cat Hai District will attract many tourists during this tourist season, contributing to completing the target of gaining 3.6 million visitors this year./.
