Targets of Haiphong socio-economic development in 2014
The year 2014 plays a significant role in fulfilling
targets of the 5-year plan of Haiphong socio-economic development for the
period from 2011 to 2015, and creating impetus for achievement of targets of
the 10-year strategy of the city socio-economic development for the period from
2011 to 2020. Haiphong People’s Committee therefore determines

The year 2014 plays a significant role in fulfilling
targets of the 5-year plan of Haiphong socio-economic development for the
period from 2011 to 2015, and creating impetus for achievement of targets of
the 10-year strategy of the city socio-economic development for the period from
2011 to 2020. Haiphong People’s Committee therefore determines:
To concentrate on solving difficulties for enterprises;
fostering economic recovery and growth along with restructuring; promoting
socio-culture; ensuring social welfares and security; and improving people’s
living standards. To pay great attention on enhancing effectiveness of the
urban management, new rural construction and environmental protection. To
foster administrative reforms, prevention of corruption and squandering. To
expand external relations, strengthen national defense and security, and
maintain political stability and social security.
The city thereby sets main targets for the year 2014 as
follows:
(1) GDP grows by 8.0-9.0% as compared to the year 2013,
in which the agriculture-forestry-aquatic sector rises by 4.0-4.5%, the
industry-construction sector increases by 6.45-7.45%, and the service sector up
by 9.65-10.72%;
(2) Index of industrial production rises by 6.5-7.5%;
(3) Total capital expenditures come up at 42,500 billion
VND;
(4) Domestic tax collection achieves 9,000 billion VND;
(5) Port cargo throughput achieves more than 53 million
tonnes;
(6) Export turnover increases by 16.0-17.0%;
(7) To attract about 5.2 million tourist arrivals;
(8) The whole city achieves average 11 criteria of new
rural development as regulated in the National Set of New Rural Criteria (in
which, from 8 to 10 communes complete the new rural construction);
(9) Natural population growth rate to be maintained below
1%;
(10) To create jobs for about 51,500 labours; in which
the well-trained labours make up 74%;
(11) 73% population participates in the health insurance;
(12) Poor families reduce by 0.9%;
(13) 97% rural population uses hygienic water;
(14) 97% urban wastes to be collected and fully treated.
