Implemented since 2005 with a total area of ​​55 hectaresand an investment of nearly 3.500 billion, Tan Cang has 5 piers with a total length of 980.6 m; all are being used for loading and unloading containers. All piers are capable ofserving20,000-tonships full load and 40,000-ton ships reduced load. Pier number 7 is especially used for collective cargo. In addition, Tan Cangis equipped with gantry cranes with 40-ton lifting capacity and forklifts with lifting capacity up to 45 tons and other means of transport to carrycontainers. Currently, Tan Cangcontainer terminal has a capability of loading over 11,000 teus, meeting the demands of Haiphong Harbor’smajor customers.
