Gross domestic product in the city increases by more than 11%
In the first 6 months of this year, commercial and service activities in the city achieved a good growth compared to the same period last year in the context that the pandemic has been controlled well , production and business activities have gradually returned to normal , programs to connect supply and demand , promotions to stimulate consumer demand have been promoted.

In the first 6 months of this year, commercial and service activities in the city achieved a good growth compared to the same period last year in the context that the pandemic has been controlled well , production and business activities have gradually returned to normal , programs to connect supply and demand , promotions to stimulate consumer demand have been promoted.

 Total retail sales of goods and services reached more than 84,000 billion VND, up 12.79% over the same period last year , equaling 52.59% of the plan .  Transportation, warehousing, transportation support services and postal and delivery services met difficulties in increasing fuel costs , however , the quantity of goods transported in the first 6 months of the year was quite abundant. Travelling demand of passengers has been on an increase since April. Many transport units gained better revenue compared to the same period last year.  Cargo transport was estimated at 132.8 million tons, up 15.06% over the same period last year.  Passenger transport reached 16.4 million turns, down 23.28% over the same period last year.

Many tourism promotion activities were organized along with the innovation of inner city tourism products, the famous brands of Do Son and Cat Ba, which attracted a large number of tourists to Hai Phong, facilitating the growth for the trade and service sectors. Especially some service sectors had a strong recovery.  The total number of visitors served by the city's accommodation and travel establishments was estimated at 3 million arrivals, up 27.69% over the same period last year.
