Commencing Ben Rung bridge connecting HaiPhong – Quang Ninh

(Haiphong.gov.vn) - In a series of events to welcome the 67th anniversary of Haiphong Liberation Day and Haiphong Red Flamboyant Festival 2022, this morning, the city people’s committee held a commencing ceremony for Ben Rung bridge investment and construction project, connecting Haiphong and Quang Ninh. The ceremony was taking place in the presence of Mr. Le Van Thanh – Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky – Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of People’s Council of Quang Ninh province and leaders ò central ministries and branches. Attending the event from Haiphong city were Mr. Tran Lưu Quang – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Haiphong Party Committee, Head of Haiphong NA delegation; Mr. Nguyen Van Tung – Deputy Secretary of Haiphong Party Committee, Chairman of People’s Council; city leaders and representatives of departments, localities and units.

Ben Rung bridge crosses over Đá Bạch rives and has the total length of 1,867m and width of 21.5m. It has 4 spans and 34 girders. The abutent is made from reinforced concrete and uses drilling pillars for the foundation. It is designed for loading capacity of HL93 and dimension of 2x(85x11)m. The construction has the total investment capital of roughly VND 1,941 billion. Upon completion, Ben Rung bridge will help to raise the transport capacity, formulate the trans-regional transport connectivity, meet the demand for travel of the people among the industrial parks and complexes of the two localities, contributing to boosting the regional association, opening up the new development space, erecting modern scenery and architecture bearing strong identities, practically serving the tourism development and fostering the trans-border counterbalance capacity. As planned, the work will be finished in 2024./.
