Hai Phong IIP increases by 11.84 % in first 6 months
In the first 6 months of the year, Covid-19 had a negative impact on the global supply chain, and the high cost of production materials affected a number of industrial production sectors. In that context, industrial production in the city continued to maintain stable production and achieved a good growth rate of 11.84%, however, still lower than the plan.

If the index of industrial production (IIP) in 2021 increased by 19.02% compared to 2020, in the first quarter of 2022, due to the impact of covid 19, other objective factors, IIP in the city increased by 9.76 % over the same period. Entering the second quarter, the industrial sector continued to be negatively affected by the world economy, along with soaring prices and production costs, the city's IIP in the first six months of the year reached 11 .84 % over the same period last year . The manufacturing industry increased by 12.37 %, contributing 11.58 percentage points to the general increase.
In terms of forecasts on the production and business situation in the third quarter, 49.2% of enterprises assessed the trend would be better compared to the second quarter; 35.8 % of enterprises think that the production situation will be stable and 15 % of enterprises forecast more difficult. However, the continuous increase in input material prices put pressure on enterprises ' production and business activities, which may affect the industrial production index in the near future.
